About the Event
Systemic Mapping and Systemic Constellations are powerful transformational tools used to illuminate problematic issues and previously unseen dynamics in a whole new way for coaches and their clients. The coach facilitates the map-making using particular systemic principles and practices which will be learned and practiced on this intensive three day training course. Coaches will explore their own system maps and practice with each other in taking representative and issue holder roles. This experience is key to learning the stance and somatic nature of a constellation practitioner.
These techniques are used successfully by coaching professionals working with individuals and groups, sometimes working one to one, as well as in in team settings. This extraordinary way of working allows us to access the clients ‘felt sense’ of issues and relationships. It is particularly useful when clients or team members are “going round and round in their heads” trying to resolve problems or disentangle themselves from the past patterns of systems they belong to and are influenced by.
Systemic Mapping is a first stage used by Constellations Practitioners when facilitating organisational or team constellations however it is also an intervention in it’s own right. This Explorer course allows you to begin to access this powerful way of working and to discover what else is possible whilst taking away useful, immediately applicable tools and skills. We will learn both mapping techniques as well as table top and individual constellation methods, in addition to systemic decision making exercises.
This work is firmly rooted in the principle of respect for every client’s ability to explore and resolve their own issues. The coach or facilitator acts not as an advisor or expert during this type of intervention, but as a resource for safely processing and exploring issues, as well as facilitating structured reflection and gaining potential new insights.
The Explorer Course includes discussion, course resources and practice around the following:
Systems thinking and systemic principles
Somatic awareness and bodywork
Outlining the ‘stance & principles’ for the effective systemic coach or facilitator
Discovering through doing the power of the methodology of constellations
Discovering and working with different representative objects and markers
The importance and relevance of boundaries, orientation and distance in constellations
Reading maps and exploring alternative perspectives or ‘lenses’
Mining for fresh information and revelations
Table-top constellation instruction and practice
Identifying systemic issues and selecting appropriate exercises
Reflections and opportunities for further learning
You will receive a SCANZ Mapping Kit, and an Explorer Course workbook included in the fee.
A course completion certificate confirming ICF Approved CCE's will also be provided.
N.B. The second level courses 'Journeys in Team Coaching Constellations' & 'Journeys in One to One Coaching' will only be available to delegates who have completed the Explorer Training.
